the beauty of the asymmetrical. 8'base x 53' height, ceramic

this piece is the work i made at NYU summer 2024. this piece symbolizes growth, and finding beauty in the small things of life, while still looking at life as a whole. This piece is so important to me- my first big ceramic work. I mixed my own glazes, did a solo firing, and threw each part chunk by chunk. The whole point of this work was to make sure it was tall, and had a complex figure. If you look closely, there are small engravings and etchings of different flowers and faces all over. there is also an elephant-trunk-like form on top of the vase signifying the importance of elephants in my family.

"droplets" a seriesceramic

this series was the result of me playing around with different blue glazes, and learning how to mix my own glazes with different metals and powders. It was so incredibly fun to be able to have such amazing outcomes from pure blind experiments.

"oceanic" 8x8 inch, ceramic

This piece was one of my very first thrown ceramic works. This started off as 15 lbs on the wheel, and turned into this beautiful form simulating waves and the sea. the inspiration for this work was ocean life, due to the fact that I was taking environmental science at the time, and had really felt emerged into the life of the sea.

"Petals" a series. ceramic 7x4 inch

this series was me experimenting with textures. This flower-petal-like pattern that fills these vases was so much fun to make, and turned out exactly how i pictured. The inspiration for this series was nature, and the beauty of flowers and petals.

"fish lamp"ceramic, 14x5 inch

This work is the base of a lamp shade, and is supposed to signify a fish and water. I used multiple different techniques to glaze this piece- layers of plastered underglaze followed by multiple layers of different types of crackle, and crystalize glazes. Is fully functional.

"Rose" newsprint&masking tape,
joint work: Alisa Zusin, Nadia Hmaidi.

This work was made for my schools "Re-Use Fashion Show". It was made by me and my friends Nadia and Eleanor out of paper. Our concept was to incorporate different aspects from fashion staples into the dress- the madonna cone bra, and ruffled dresses with bows. This dress embraces femininity.
